| Okay, I have discovered something incredible. In the past I have never been one to read the newspaper. But now that I'm exploring how to be a contributing member of society by looking for available jobs I've realized that The Herald Leader is incredible. It is so inclusive. It's like Asbury's chapel in that it keeps the whole community connected or on the same page. WOW, I mean crossword puzzles, comic strips that aren't really funny, news about Burma, Iraq, and Taiwan plus other great countries, and local news, garage sales, gardening advice, obituaries for the whole State-it's all there. If I want to buy a car, buy a house, or sell a house or car or the neighbor's cat all I have to do is put it in the newspaper. They even have this section called "The Meeting Place" for people looking for dates. lol Honestly, this is exciting to me. Who knew that there was so much to do in Lexington! Movies, opera house, theatre productions, music, art galleries, arboretum, etc.-it just keeps going on and on. I've discovered that it amazingly makes me feel connected to a community. The thoroughness of it and the broad range of topics are more than enough to keep me up to date. Opportunities for an active and exciting life have unfolded before me. I forgot to mention they have sales in there, too. It even has pictures! Especially great are the sale ads for various stores, because the pictures are in color. This is a great find! |
